Eugene is part of our Supported Living program. To know Eugene is to love him. His charismatic personality is engaging and welcoming. Eugene’s life has not been without challenge. In 2020 he lost his wife of four years, and he is known to help his twenty-one-year-old son always putting others before himself. Over the last few months, Eugene has achieved many goals. After losing his employment at Buffalo Wild Wings, Eugene worked hard to find a new job. He was employed with McDonald’s, where he worked well with the crew and customers. Unfortunately, two buses were required to commute daily, and this was difficult to sustain. Eugene persevered, with lots of coaching and encouragement, he landed a job with Publix as a cart bagger. Eugene is adored by the management and staff at his store. He is hard worker, eager to please, and helpful to anyone in need. His delightful spirit makes it a dream to work with him. Eugene is so proud of the person he is becoming. Currently, Eugene is learning to read and cook different meals independently. Eugene has transformed from a person that fears change to a person who embraces change and welcomes new opportunities with open arms. Eugene is a true overcomer. The Supported Living team is excited to see how bright his future opportunities are.
