Early Beginnings Academy Charter School

United Cerebral Palsy of South Florida Charter Schools Inc. doing business as United Community Options of South Florida Charter Schools operates the Early Beginnings Academy Charter School. Early Beginnings Academy Charter School is operated under the direction of the Board of Directors and the Educational Services Provider Agreement with United Cerebral Palsy of South Florida Charter Schools Inc. d/b/a United Community Options of South Florida Charter Schools.

Early Beginnings Academy (EBA) is a Miami-Dade County Public Schools Charter School designed to provide a specialized academic experience and educationally relevant therapeutic services to children ages Pre-K to 2nd grade. EBA serves children with special education needs at two locations – Civic Center and North Shore. We educate students from a range of communities throughout Miami, and specialize in creating a unique experience for our students and families.

EBA’s classrooms are intentionally structured provide the most optimal experience for all students which includes a small classroom environment with an average student-to-teacher ratio of 5:1. Teachers and staff provide intensive and individualized educational strategies, techniques, and programs designed to address the specific needs of each student to promote a love of learning, self-awareness, and foundational skills necessary to maximize their full potential.

The school offers a wide range of quality services including Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapies. Music Therapy is provided in group sessions and individual sessions based on student needs. Therapeutic services are integrated into the educational plans of each child and facilitated by highly qualified and experienced therapists who work collectively with the teachers and staff to fully integrate therapeutic strategies within the classroom setting. This integration helps to utilize our schools highly skilled professionals in the best way to maximize the full potential of our students.

The After School Program is generously funded by The Children’s Trust and it is an unique opportunity for children with a developmental disability or delay. From 3:00p.m. to 4:30p.m., it provides an optimum learning environment with daily teacher directed activities in the areas of literacy, fitness and social skills.
