Respite Care Program

United Community Options provides in home, short-term, respite care to children with varying exceptionalities. The individual’s family/caregiver benefits from the short-term relief from day to day stresses involved in caring for a child with special needs. Respite sitters are trained, loving and willing to care and assist families in need. Our program is dedicated to serving families in Broward County who have children with unique needs. The object of respite care is to assist families and caregivers to cope successfully with the day-to-day demands of providing care and nurturing of a developmentally disabled child at home. Their child is eligible for services from Birth-22 years of age. **We are an income based program** The Respite Worker will provide participants with personal care assistance and offer interactive activities and supervision in the absence of their parent/guardian in the participant’s home.
