Adult Day Training Program


Adult Day Training (Life Skills Development Program)

United Community Options life skills development program is designed for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The program, which is individualized, develops nurturing relationships and fosters independence. The program enhances the individual’s desire to learn and build relationships that promote a positive self-identity, self-advocacy, adaptive skills, social skills, daily living skills, employment/vocational skills and community integration. The Life Skills Development program retains a Broward County teacher to work in collaboration with UCO to provide additional educational activities and computer literacy. Vocational skills such as product assembly and packaging are available through service contracts with National and local businesses. Individuals are compensated for work completed, which contributes to their social well-being, and creates a sense of pride and accomplishment. United Community Options has a large fleet of vans for transporting individuals and is available for most program participants in Broward County.

Supported Employment (Life Skills Development Program)

United Community Option’s Supported Employment Program provides job placement and support services for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities who want to enter the workforce. The program helps individuals find, train and maintain employment. Our Employment Specialists work to place participants in community jobs, and provide ongoing assistance to both the employer and employee. A system of supports is established to enable the employee to achieve independence and job success. Our certified Supported Employment Specialists provide, Vocational Assessments, Career Counseling, promote self-advocacy, and Job placement and coaching.

Adult Day Training

United Community Options Adult Day Training program, the only Behavior focused facility in Palm Beach County, teaches individual’s with varying exceptionalities to become more independent and contributing members of society. Individuals participate in meaningful day training and recreational activities that strive to honor consumer choice and promote independence. Daily living skills including social and behavioral skills, money management, fitness and health, and self-advocacy are key components to program success. United Community Options has a large fleet of vans for transporting individuals and is available in most areas in Palm Beach County.
